As renewable energies are getting more and more important in the 21st century and skilled labour is highly in demand, we defined a catalogue of minimum standards for vocational training in this field in the AIRE project.
As learning CD-ROMs will be necessasry in order to train all the future installers, we ask all producers of learning software to submit their detailed offers for learning CD-ROMs which are based on the AIRE catalogue and the differentiation between the different levels of the European Qualifications Framework 3, 4 and 5 by 12 September 2011.

Marketing Text In the AIRE project Berlin exports the vocational training „Assistant for Regenerative Energy techniques and energy management“ to other European countries

In cooperation with the partners in Belgium, Denmark, Spain and Turkey we will develop curricula or rather common modules, which are comparable, define common quality standards, and allocate these to the EQF, ECVET and the EUROPASS documents.

Summary In the EU the following binding targets for 2020 were defined: to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 20% and ensure 20% of renewable energy sources in the EU energy mix; a plan to reduce EU global primary energy use by 20% by 2020.

In order to realize these objectives the EU is in need of well trained technical staff. Since 2002 there has been the training for „Assistant for regenerative energy and energy management“. This is a full time school vocational training which is recognized by the KMK (Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs of the Länder in the Federal Republic)
